We are proud to announce the birth of our son
Schäfer Ewald Kleinert
at 7:50AM on December 30th at Matilda Hospital in Hong Kong.
8lbs. 1oz., 20 inches
The Name:
Schäfer (“shay-fir”) is a German name meaning ‘shepherd’. Our prayer is that he would guide and protect whatever is appointed to him.
Ewald (“ee-wald”) is a 5th generation Kleinert family name.
The Story:
Sandra started having light contractions at 3:30AM on December 29th. The contractions started getting more heavy and regular at 8pm that evening. At 1AM we called the first hospital, which turned out to be full. The second hospital (Matilda) still had beds, so we caught a taxi there. Sandra’s contractions averaged 5 minutes apart and 50 seconds long throughout the entire labor. At 7:00AM she started pushing and at 7:50AM our son made his debut.
