Black Friday 2007

Well, it’s Black Friday and I’m pleased to say that our family kept our tradition and did not go shopping.

Our usual day-after-Thanksgiving tradition is to put up our Christmas decorations, but that is currently postponed because Hubs is in Wuhan making the final preparations for his three hour test tomorrow morning.

This morning he took the train to Wuhan and for 96rmb he got a hard sleeper. I’m not sure why we ever take the bus – quite crammed if you’re 6’4″. So, on his 5 hour train ride he had some time to read, reflect, sleep and then get off the train feeling rather refreshed.

I just encouraged him to have a hearty breakfast before the test, but then he reminded me that there are no bathroom breaks.

I’m with you on the NO SHOPPING. Stores here were opening at 4 a.m. Friday. I don’t really like to shop during regular business hours…no way am I interested in 4am shopping!? I’m amazed at the number of people who like it though!
