Schäfer woke up the day after his birthday to find balloons still in the living room. How enduring that the first balloon he grabbed was orange! Surely this proves that he has a bit of his Mommy in him after all!

Mommy and Papa gave him this bear wearing an American flag sweater. Hubs has named him “Gunther Bear”. We’ll see if it sticks.

Sometimes foreign books have both the English and Chinese, but unfortunately these only have the Chinese. Thankfully, they do have pinyin. We’ve also given these books to other little friends for birthday gifts and they were well received.
A new truck & beach toys from Eden, Clark & good buddy Justin.
All the loot. Our odd gifts this birthday were a set of pink pajamas (in China, there are no color preferences for boys or girls) and the large box of Dove chocolates…hummm…I think we’ll chop those up and use them for baking!

As much as he loves books, he has a special look for bears…I noticed it when he got the panda in HK. He has the same sweet look on his face for Gunther. Nanamaw
