Let’s celebrate! I mean all out celebrate! Chocolate-for-breakfast kind of celebrate!
On Saturday morning, we received an e-mail from our adoption agency: our dossier has been logged!
It seems that CCAA prefers to bundle information on several cases at once instead of notifying agencies as they work on each dossier.
Thus, we’ve logged since December 29, 2007!
Here is why you can give thanks & celebrate:
As we mentioned before, we have felt such confirmation through this entire process. Shortly after Schäfer’s birth, Hubs was ready to begin the paper chase, but I wasn’t ready as it took me a while to get into a good rhythm of life with a newborn.
On July 1st, I walked into the office and told Hubs that I was ready to start the paper chase. Hubs replied, “Let’s contact the adoption agency on my birthday.”
Just three days later, on Hubs birthday, we made initial contact with our agency.
Then, on my birthday (5 months later) our entire dossier was completed.
So, I asked He-Who-Is-In-Charge-of-Everything, to allow our Log-In-Date to be on Schäfer’s birthday: December 30th.
Since our dossier was received by CCAA on December 24th, this was a BIG request. The entire thing still had to be translated, approved, and logged.
I confess that I was disappointed when Schäfer’s birthday came and passed, but we received no news.
Q: Why is December 29th considered confirmation?
A: Because December 30th fell on a Sunday.
CCAA is not open on a Sunday. In fact, since Monday was December 31st many offices allowed their workers to come in on Saturday the 29th so they could take two days off for the New Year.
I’d also like to give thanks for the fact that our dossier was received on December 24th & logged on the 29th. That’s the same workweek people!
I must excuse myself from this post to go… dance around in the living room!

CONGRATULATIONS! That’s wonderful news! What a beautiful story of His sweet arrangement of dates and details…
Wonderful news!!! Thanks for sharing about the dates–that’s very neat!
YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!!! I know you are super pumped over this. I am super pumped for you!!! I know the paper chase. I am doing a dance as well. WE will be there soon. We are looking at June to get ours in. Your’s seemed to go a little faster than the one here. Oh well…. I am learning that patience is a virtue. Whatever the heck that means.
Yeah for you! I am so excited!!!!!!
We could have finished the entire paper chase in 3 months, but we couldn’t turn in our dossier until Schäfer was closer to one. Hang in there with the paper chase! It will be over soon. I’m just asking that we don’t have to paper chase again for expired documents.
That is soooo awesome!!! yeah! so any estimates on how long a match will take? We can’t wait to be introduced to this little girl!
No, we can not really estimate on how long a match will take. I’d love to be home next Christmas, but we’re looking more at like spring 2009. I’d really like to come to Pagosa for a while. Do you think Jim could loan us his travel lodge on wheels?
Wow…I am so excited for you guys. Someone has a hand in it all…what a story!
Thank you He-Who-Is-In-Charge-of-Everything!!!!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
PRAISE!!! I’m so happy for you all (all 4 of you!)
We rejoice with you! The anticipation of your little baby girl is shared by both of us.
Our prayers are that as “in your heart you make your plans, the Lord will determine your steps”. Prov. 16:9
We are so excited…a boy and girl…GOOD! WE need your address to mail some notes for their quilt books to go with their quilt swatches!!! lots of love… Jim and Sherry
What a blessing!! We look forward to hearing more. Praise !!!
