I doubt Schäfer's childhood scrapbook will win the show-n-tell prize because so far there is NO scrapbook. Oh, there are photos. They are perfectly organized inside our computer. Dated. Captioned. Etc. But no book of any kind so far.

This summer has been great, but busy. Now that we are preparing to leave for the states in two weeks, I don't think have time to even think about it!

I guess I just need to get it done the night before his show-n-tell right? Take care!

Oh my... love it, love it, love it... thank you so much for taking me up the Wall with you... this is a life long dream for me to go up on the wall... this is something I am really looking forward to doing... to walk along part of the wall - the not so touristy area like where you went... oh... I tell you I got tears in my eyes just from watching you walk up there... I think that when we go I am going to take the cable car up there... thank you again for the photos...

I have been reading your blog for several months now and find your life absolutely fascinating. BUT nothing compares with this post!!! So amazing!

Also, I totally believe you that your hubby's personality used to be timid. My husband was also a very quiet and meed individual. But then we adopted our son! It has changed him so much! It's a nice change, and I find great joy in watching him lead our family. :-)

Keep up the good work. (I know language studies are not the easiest!) I feel confident that your family is also meeting needs for people there.

Amazing...Beautiful...Huge

Something I really hope I get the chance to see for myself one day.

Love the photos....Favorite - the one where Shafer is running away with his arms out to the side. New young life discovering the ancient labors of history - Beautiful.

LIke the new Blog design.

What BEAUTIFUL pictures. We are headed there next time we go. I can't wait to see it in person. That was one of the main questions we got asked over and over, "Have you seen the Great Wall?" No. Me neither. :) Thanks for sharing. Looks like you guys had a GREAT trip!

Sandra,

I am loving your trip report! Great tour of Beijing ... amazing photos, and lots of details! The photos of Schafer on the Great Wall were precious - especially the one where he is taking a milk break!
