We spent Sunday morning with a neat community group. We were quite surprised to see our friends from California who now live in Mississippi there. They decided to drive 2 hours just to surprise us. That’s amazing.

We enjoyed a wonderful bbq lunch at Podnuh’s. (Sigh. Our final Podnuh’s.) Lynn shared her big news – she’s expecting #2! I wished Schäfer was with us to play with Will. Instead he’s with his Nanamaw enjoying a familiar environment and a nap schedule.

Thank you Dan, Lynn and Will for driving all the way to Funroe. It was so unexpected and great to see you guys!

After lunch Hubs had to return a faulty doorknob to Lowe’s. Don’t you think strapping a tree to your car is classic Americana?

Before we left Funroe, we had to stop by Eskamoe’s. I love that their sign says, “Need a quick lunch – or try a hot fudge brownie sundae.” Hummm…I’m not even going to go there.

Hubs gets wild over frozen custard.
We made it home by 4pm only to leave again at 5:30pm to visit my home community group.
I did manage to get in a 15 minute nap with Schäfer playing in the living room. I woke up to him laughing in my face saying “Funny! Funny! Funny!” Maybe he was being funny? Or maybe I look funny sleeping?
It was so bitter sweet to be with my home group. We loved seeing everyone. We were sad to say goodbye. We made it home by about 7:30pm – just in time to put Schäfer down and start packing. In 48 hours, we fly back to Idaho.
One great mystery remains: how in the world can we get all our stuff to Idaho in only 2 allotted checked bags.
