INGREDIENTS
10 cups thinly sliced apples
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup water (we don’t recommend this)
1 cup quick-cooking oats (double)
1 cup all purpose flour (double)
1 cup packed brown sugar (double)
1/4 teaspoon baking powder (double)
1/4 teaspoon baking soda (double)
1/2 cup butter, melted (double)
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Place the sliced apples in a 9×13 inch pan. Mix the white sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and ground cinnamon together. Sprinkle over apples.
3. Combine the oats, 1 cup flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture. (We double these ingredients to provide a thick, granola type crust on top.)
4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 45 minutes.
This is proof that whenever I need to mix something together, I naturally grab a chopstick.
One of the best things we brought overseas was our apple peeler/corer/slicer. Hubs normally peels the apples while I get all the dry ingredients together. After all, two people in the kitchen means half the prep time. We always have our best conversations there anyway.
Good job apple peeler/corer/slicer!

Awesome! Looks good – i’m going to have to try that
We brought back an apple peeler corer slicer too – those things ROCK!!!
(our apples here are quite misshapen though so they don’t look as pretty as yours when I’m done, but it’s AWESOME!!)
Fun post
