Rain = puddles
Puddles = rain boots
Rain boots = big fun

Mi Le’s rain boots have been ordered from taobao.com. Until they arrive, his sneakers will have to do.

Introducing the Dump Truck Hat.

Nai Nai was out practicing Tai Chi.

She was so patient and willing to help him find the correct position.

Later that afternoon, another Nai Nai gave Schäfer his first croquet lesson.

He preferred tossing the balls through the gate.

Spring is everywhere. There are a wide variety of animals out and about. Jie Jie brings her bunny out every day.

Lots of Ye Ye’s have been fishing in the lotus pond. Schäfer loves playing with their latest catch.

The rains have caused the worms to come up for dry land.

We found this new dirt mound tucked away around a corner. This pile of dirt brought 2 hours of unlimited fun for these two boys.

Unfortunately, the owner of the dirt told a neighborhood Grandma who told an Auntie who told us that the dirt is to be used for their home renovation. (Bad news never comes direct.)
At first, I was sad because the boys loved playing in the dirt so much and it’s located in a spot where there are no cars, but today we found a new dirt pile and we met a new friend who is not even a month younger than Schäfer. This dirt pile is in a great spot under some nice trees. Yeah for new friends!

These pictures are SO fun! I love the looks on the kiddos faces. Pure joy to play in all that dirt!
ah. thanks for “the day in the life of schafer” post. he’s such a cutie! just in case you haven’t been told lately… you guys rock! (((hugs!)))
your life is so different than mine. My kids see dirt and are like “ewwwwwww!” Shafer (and momma) see dirt and think “score. two hours!” crack me up.
I’ll be eagerly following the progress of your herb garden, so I can taste success through your endeavors, since mine always end so tragically. good luck… =)
Such a cute little Chinese face!
