Sunday was a busy one, but somehow in the midst of it all we pulled together a cheesecake.

I love finding my guys snuggled up to their favorite book: Fox in Socks.

Hubs recently traveled to Wuhan where he was able to pick up cream cheese and this hand held blender. Wow! Yes, for the last 4 years we’ve been blending it the old fashioned way.

Schäfer was especially interested in helping with the blender.

The best part of blender usage: licking the beaters.

Schäfer’s still getting treats for his potty activity. We’ll keep doing this until they’re all gone. I think we might have 1.5 days worth of treats left. He called these strawberry gummies “lady bugs” and played with them for-ev-er.

At hubs request, I baked a short bread crust for the cheesecake, but in the end neither of us liked how it turned out. Previously, we used a graham cracker (aka digestive crackers) crust. It was just OK. What’s your favorite cheesecake crust?

Thank you Grandmaw for giving us your spring form pan. I had no clue we could take the center ring out. Oops. Next time! We’re putting it to good use!

I absolutely would have taken a photo of the final product, but then life was hectic again and before I knew it guests were munching away. Yum.
Tonight, we also served basil chicken pasta. Our herb garden has enough basil to feed all of China for a week!
