On a nice summer afternoon, we decided to take some friends to the Children’s Park and zoo.

For some reason, this military jet is parked inside the Children’s Park.

The zoo was as exciting as always. Today, at the monkey/goat/porcupine pen, the monkeys were ganging up on this white goat. The poor goat was terrified to leave the hole.

When the goat did leave, one monkey alerted the others to his escape – and they all came after him.

But there were just too many monkeys attacking from all directions, so the goat fled to the safety of the cave.

When we visited the tiger pen, we were pleasantly surprised to discover four tiger cubs playing

Next, we went to visit the emu pen. There is an art to emu meetings. First, address the emu politely. Wave your fake “hand emu” around for 2 minutes before approaching the actual emu.

Then, gently reach over and scratch the back of the emu’s head.

We finished the day with a very rare dinner at Pizza Hut. There was no pepperoni pizza no the menu, but I managed to convince them to make one for us. We appreciated the cheese in the stuffed-crust. We also had chicken and basil-sausage pizza, thin-crust (which is the way pizza is in Italy.) I think next time we’ll bring our own fresh basil. We’ve got plenty to spare.

Poor goat
What an odd combination of animals in one pen.I remember eating at Pizza Hut at the end of my trip and we had to convince them to make pepperoni pizzas for us too.
Those mean monkeys!lol I love seeing your local zoo! That pizza looks good too! You should take a photo of your basil! I’d love to see how it’s growing.
Blessings,
Lisa
"Rare dinner at Pizza Hut"? Was it undercooked?
I did not know there was an art to emu meeting, but I will have to remember that! So funny! Love the pics.
Oh, but that poor goat.
Great photos! Poor goat. Have a great week
