• Saw a man walking his parrot this morning. We don't walk our parrots in Idaho.
  • At the 40th annual ukulele festival. Just had a uke lesson. Very cool.
  • I've seen a bicycle with a surf board rack, a fire engine pulling a yacht & a bronzed old man with muscles like a dinosaur. We're in Hawaii!
  • Hong Kong airport. Free wifi. Chai. Lounge chairs. Kids craft area (gate24). Kids potties. English books. Love it! Gotta board the plane now
  • Hong Kong! There's just something about the fresh air and convenient transportation (Octopus card!) that makes my travel weary body smile.

The Yichang Underground Tunnel of Doom!

In the Yichang Children’s Park there is an “Underground City” that I’ve been wanting to check out for four years. Well, one hot summer day we finally took the plunge. The Underground City is actually an old military bunker, probably built during the “War of Japanese Aggression”. It’s actually pretty extensive with a number of sections closed off.

It really is just a series of interconnected tunnels.

The tunnels seem to go on forever.

This entertainment hall offers something to do besides wandering around endless dark tunnels.

They’ve got ping pong, pool, chess, etc. Since we’re underground, the place is rather cool. I can see this being a great way to pass a hot summer day – if you don’t mind that damp, under the earth, musty smell.

Several sections are themed, like this haunted house area. Love the scary Christmas trees at the entrance.

Other sections have obstacle courses and rope areas, making the Underground City into your own personal “Tunnel of Doom.”  Survivor Season 57 has finally secured the perfect location.

Lots of fun for the whole family!
