Our neighbor has been cleaning out her daughter’s bedroom. In an effort to waste nothing, Schäfer has been acquiring loads of blank notebooks, paints, and even a set of old crayons. They look like they’re from the 1980′s, but based off how old our friend’s daughter is, I’d say these are mid-90′s. Vintage indeed.
For your peace of mind, Keebler has never launched a line of colors in the Chinese market.
Or perhaps they did.
Perhaps the Keebler elves had a bad run of cracker dye that gelled too hard, but in an effort to turn a profit they exported them as crayons.
No, maybe not.
Maybe this is a bold example of the 1990′s fascination with the decadent west which led to the inevitable rip-off of the bourgeois cracker-elf iconography of the time.
Marje must have made a killing.

What a hoot! I don’t know if I like the package or your sentence more “…rip-off of the bourgeois cracker-elf iconography…”
