WuDuHe: Riding Off Adoption Stress

It has been a little stressful the past couple weeks – primarily with the adoption. Today, I decided to go riding to blow off some stress. There is something freeing about riding – especially in China. Every road I pass leads down some unknown valley and beckons me to explore it.

Today, I went on a fairly straightforward ride up one of my favorite canyons and back. I woke up at 6:00am, finished bike preparations, kissed Schäfer and my beautiful wife, and was out the door by 7am.  The weather was cool and skies relatively clear. The smog was slightly hazy. I looked forward to lots of time to observe creation and chat with God.

I did try to see a newly built scenic area on my way back, however during the holiday period (October 1-7) I apparently can’t use my tourist pass. I’ll have to wait until after the 8th to see the man-made waterfall surrounded by imported overfed monkeys.

I got back to the apartment by 2pm, tired, but feeling much better.
