Today, I stopped by The Office of Bad News. They were open this time. It was a brief pop in and out. My smile and love was genuine. I triple checked my heart before walking in.
Then, I picked up Schäfer from preschool. His teachers informed me that it was time to take Schäfer to the hospital for his health check for the spring semester. I told them that there might be some transitions and we weren’t sure if Schäfer would be joining them for the spring semester. His teachers started to cry.
I, too, was in shock because this was the first time I’ve shared this news. I changed the subject by saying that we wanted to have a Christmas party for the entire class next week. (Note to self: add this to the list) Everyone seemed excited about the Christmas party.
This afternoon Hubs was out and about while Schäfer and I stayed inside. It’s getting SO cold.

Schäfer worked on some new dance moves.

He practiced guitar. (His thermals were hand knitted by a Ye’s grandma.)

He cleared the snow with his “snow plow”.
Tomorrow begins 7 days of 10 Christmas parties. Yes, we’ll be partying twice on some days. This evening, we enjoyed one final silent night together. So long clean and organized home!
We’ve gotten very laid back in our Christmas partying. Previously, we did a lot of cooking. This year, I’m keeping it simple. The only thing coming out of the kitchen (for every party) will be authentic American Christmas cookies.
Tomorrow we have two parties and a gazillion things to accomplish before then.
We can not seem to get to bed before 11:30pm. So bad.
