Sianna is 9 months old!

Yesterday, I decided to brave public transportation by myself with two kids so I made an 11am appointment with the photo studio. Sianna went to sleep a little later this morning so at 11:30am she was having her bottle when the photo studio called to see were coming. Since they were busy, they asked if we could come at 3:30. OK.
Well, at 3:30 in the afternoon Schäfer and Sianna were still sleeping! By the time everyone woke up, had a snack, added winter layers, got Sianna in the Ergo, Schäfer down five flights of stairs and into the stroller we were on our way… to the bus stop.
There were no taxi’s to be found so we took the bus. Once we were off the bus, the photo studio called to see if we were coming. It was 4:50pm. I promised that we were about 4 blocks away and definitely coming.
Whew. It took SO much energy to get to the studio! The shoot went OK. Sianna didn’t know what to expect. There were moments that she was scared of the photographer and his two assistants. She wouldn’t smile at anyone but Mommy! It was so neat to see how attached she is becoming to me.
I should add that the studio was so great with Sianna. I asked that they only allow me to touch her and set her into position. For the most part, this went well – especially after Sianna got upset when they tried to touch her.
After the photo shoot, we celebrated with a trip to Walmart for a slice of pizza from the deli. Sianna slept in the Ergp while Schäfer played in the toy section. Then, we braved the bus ride home.

I’ve been trying to keep a journal for Sianna to remember the small moments of our day.
Sianna at 9 months:
- today she splashed in the bathtub for the 1st time
- ate three good meals plus bottles
- when Schäfer was done playing in the bathtub, he handed me a dinosaur and Sianna shook with fear.
- gives great eye contact during bottle feedings
- laughs at “woof woof”
- sits well on her own, but sometimes falls backwards
- grabs toys, my hair, my neck, my teeth
- starting to mouth toys
- says “ah ah ah” and “eh eh eh” and “wa wa wa”
- smiles quietly after naptime
- loves to ride around on my hip
- scratches her head and ears when she’s frustrated
- after 5pm she only wants to be held by Mommy. She won’t do tummy time or sit in the bumbo.
- some of her clothes are now too small!

wow-she is PRECIOUS and your blog is great,so I know she will love “her” journal when she grows up
