After two days of rain, today was a bright, clear day.

Schäfer was so happy to return to the house of the mouse.

Today was just a normal day at Disney. There were no Halloween or Chinese New Year decorations.

Schäfer loves to wear his mouse ears. He wore them all day until about 6pm when he was very tired.

Schäfer’s first ride (and his most favorite) was Autopia. Hubs snapped this pic of Schäfer driving.

It was the kind of day at Disney where you could ride the same ride in a row without waiting in line.
Schäfer rode:
autopia
dumbo x 2
carousel x 2
orbitron x 2
teacups x 2
He refused to ride Buzz Lightyear.
He begged us NOT to take him to the Lion King.

Sianna enjoyed her first ride on Cinderella’s Carousel.

Then, we went to meet the characters. Right now, this is Schäfer’s favorite thing to do.

This trip, he seemed much more interested in the character’s features. He grabbed Mickey’s nose.

He was curious about Pluto’s whiskers.

I think this was our best family pic of the day.

Before we left, he stuck his hand in to feel Pluto’s tongue.

He walked up to Goofey and yanked on his teeth.

He’s noticed that if you dance a little, then the characters will dance with you.

Sianna was all refreshed from her morning nap and had a great time meeting Minnie Mouse.

Sianna laughs the sweetest, soft giggle when she’s tossed in the air.

Schäfer refused to ride the Buzz Lightyear ride, but he couldn’t wait to meet Buzz.

Our day at Disney had a lot of this.

He checked our Tarzan’s tree house.

When we were leaving Tarzan’s tree house, Schäfer said, “Mommy, why is there a pirate?”
“I have no idea.”, I replied. Schäfer was a little nervous at first, but once the pirate offered him a sword they were good to go.

Sianna and I enjoyed watching the parade.

At the end of the parade, Schäfer saw some other kids holding up the rope. Schäfer can never pass up an opportunity to be a helper.

We took a break in UFO Zone and let Schäfer innocently play in some water. Despite this morning’s cool temperatures, the day grew quite warm.

He had a great time. (We had a change of clothes.)

It seems like each time we try to get a castle photo, it’s late in the day and the kids are so tired.

Since Schäfer was exhausted (he skipped his nap), we decided to find a seat and rest until the fireworks started. During the show, I tried to get a photo of Hubs and Schäfer under the glow of the fireworks. I was pretty sure that there was enough light. (Little did I know the Disney assistant who used our camera to take our castle photo, adjusted the settings.) When I got this murky photo, I switched to flash…

and momentarily blinded Hubs. I love this man.
On the subway ride home, Schäfer said his favorite part of today was “watching the fish swim on the castle”. (Part of the closing ceremony/fireworks.)

and to all a good night I'll bet! Love all your photos! Wondering what Schafer will do next time he sees the Disney characters??? Fun how he was so interested in details – has he pulled on your tongue or teeth yet? smile. Hugs to all.
