Nomads on a Rainy Day

03.09.10

This morning, Sianna woke up every 45 minutes from 4am – 7am.
Something’s gotta give.

Today, we wanted to go to Kowloon Park, but the rain kept us away. Instead, we rode the subway to Hong Kong Island and went for a trolley ride to the Western Market.

Schäfer loved the trolley ride.

I realize that there are a lot of photos of Schäfer. Well, if I took photos of Sianna while we are out, they would all look like this! What can I say? Riding on Mommy in the Ergo rocks her to sleep.

Once at the Western Market, Hubs and Schäfer hit up the German bakery.

The bakery did not disappoint.

Unfortunately, the fabric stores on the third floor didn’t have what I wanted for our 100 Blessings Quilt. I bought nothing and felt terrible for dragging my family all the way to Hong Kong Island in the rain.

Next, Hubs wanted to stop by the Mac store in Kowloon because he was looking for a certain piece of suede to go between our keyboard and the screen on our laptop. They didn’t have exactly what he was looking for, but Schäfer had a lot of fun listening to music on the iPod.

I’m always amazed at Schäfer’s definition of normal.

I wonder if he’ll ever have the pleasure of making a mixed tape.

Stop. Rewind. Play. Stop. Record. Stop.

For lunch, we went to Nomads which is a Mongolian BBQ restaurant. We haven’t eaten here since 2006 when I was pregnant with Schäfer.

My preferred Mongolian BBQ method is to load up on the veggies and meat. I skip the rice/ noodle option and can’t say that I miss it.

When it comes to adding sauces, I have no clue what I’m doing. After I made my bowl, I confessed to Hubs that I’m completely perplexed when it comes to combining so many sauces. Hubs replied, “Did you follow the sauce menu above the sauce station?”

There’s a menu? This information took my Mongolian BBQ skills to an entire new level.

Back at Nomads with 2 kids!

She loves her Papa.

He’s completely in love with her too.

After a yummy lunch, we headed back to our room for nap time on a dark, rainy afternoon.

That evening the rain stopped so we went for a walk in search of a grocery store. I love how Hong Kong has mini play areas throughout the city. Schäfer plays every chance he gets.

Hubs and Schäfer try to keep up with the Hong Kong pace of life.
Kidding.
There’s no way we could keep up.
