While Hubs went on his bike ride, the kids and I enjoyed a long walk around the neighborhood. Even though it’s April and Easter is tomorrow, we’re still in all our layers plus heavy coats.

The Thomas whistle resides in my “outside bag” so that it can be tooted as needed.

Schäfer loves his baby sister.

Even though we’ve told Yi Tong Schäfer’s name several times, she insists on calling him “foreign friend” or as it literally translates “outside country friend”.
Finally, today, Schäfer turned to me and asked, “Am I the foreign friend?” (Mommy, am I the waiguo pengyou?)
Yes. That would be you.
I encouraged Schäfer to keep calling her by her actual name. Maybe someday she’ll come around.

The play house has mostly been a space ship. Sometimes, it was a snail’s home. Today, Schäfer played his “drum”.

During supper tonight Schäfer and Sianna continued their play.

At 10 months, Sianna is finally done with the Bumbo.

It is really amazing to see all her movement these days!
Love Schafer's new hair cut
.
Go, go Sianna!!
Good Morning,
I just love your blog and all of the interesting things you post.
Your children are darling and it is fun seeing how you are raising
them in a different country. I really admire you and how you live
your life. I can’t imagine doing what you do on a daily basis. It
certainly makes a good blog.
Thanks for making my morning happy on an almost daily basis.
Sharron a grandma from Portland Oregon
loving how Shafer and Sianna have bonded – evident in the first few photos – if either felt alone before this they are together for the remainder! what a blessing.
Hey Shorel and Sandra,
I’m finally checking back in after almost a month of not reading my google reader…and what a month it’s been for you! WOW! I got caught up on all your news tonight and am so impressed that you blogged/are blogging your whole process with the new apartment. Way to hang in there with it! You’re doing great, things are making impressive progress!
Loved these pictures of Schafer and Sianna, how sweet and wonderful! They are a beautiful pair. Blessings to you all tonight!
Love,
Rachel
Love how you captured Sianna reaching from the Bumbo! Crosby did the same thing. She’s such a cutie!!
Love the pictures of your two kiddos together, so sweet! And Sianna was determined to get her hands on that–bumbo seat or not!
