Once the weather started to warm, we decided to ride our bikes over to a monument that is near our home. Yes, it looks like the Washington Monument, but this statue is in honor of the 1999 Yangtze River Flood Victims.

At the monument, there are four unique “houses”. Hubs would like to turn this one into a cheese factory.

Sianna loves the iBert. Unlike extra tall Schäfer, she should be able to ride in it for awhile.

It’s almost like D.C. – minus the city.

This morning Schäfer asked if he could have his photo taken with Papa. The boy is completely smitten with his Papa.

Schäfer has also become my big washing machine helper. He is excellent at adding the soap. He’s offered to press all the buttons, but I’m holding off on that.

He makes sure the washer is working properly before closing the lid.

I love it when Schäfer and Sianna play beside each other.

Sianna feels so safe when Schäfer is near. At moments like this, I can escape into the kitchen to wash the dishes or I can go to the bathroom by myself. (Previously, I always had to bring Sianna with me because she was terrified of being alone.)
Though Schäfer can play rough, he completely loves Sianna. She IS his sister. He’s very proud and protective.

I love to take photos of the kids sleeping, but I absolutely cannot go into the room when Sianna is asleep because she senses my presence and will wake up. I really want to try to get a shot of her soon. I have so many of Schäfer.
Though we were open to sleep sharing when the kids were little, both our kids were impossible to sleep with. We call them “Maniac Sleepers”. They twist and turn in every which direction, making a queen-size bed hardly big enough to share with them.

Late one afternoon, we went for a walk along the Yangtze. I put these pants on Schäfer knowing they were too big in the waist. We have quite a few pants that he hasn’t worn yet because they are too big in the waste, but now they are too short in the length. With nothing else dry, I had him wear these. Not the best idea. They practically fell off!

ahhh… i love this post. normal, everyday life. it makes me happy. miss you all bunches. (((hugs!)))
