Traveling Home

Once we knew exactly when we would get Sianna’s passport back, Hubs immediately went down to the station to purchase our train tickets home. Traveling by train is actually the most direct and convenient way back since the airport is 1.5 hours from our city.

To our surprise, the tickets were sold out for the day we wanted… and the next day… and the next. Hubs came home empty handed.

Then, he looked on-line to find all the flight prices were really high. A few hours later, Hubs looked on-line again and suddenly there were discounted tickets available that would have been about the same price as the 14 hour sleeper train!

OK. We’re flying home. This was my first time to take the bus from Hong Kong directly to the Shenzhen airport. Little did I know the blessing that awaited us all…

Oh yes. In the Hong Kong bus station (it’s actually a shopping mall), there’s a Triple O’s! I got one final dose before returning to the land of rice and veggies.

Our flight back was trouble free.

Schäfer assisted the pilot in take off and landing.

Sianna insisted that her shoes and socks be taken off. (She loathes them.)

Selah was just along for the ride.

We returned home to find an apartment that we haven’t quite moved into. Reality set in quickly. I forgot that we moved just 2 days before we left to take care of passport needs.

Time to get organized and back in a daily routine.
