Typhoon Free day at Disney

2011-06-23@10-44-47
It was an unusually cool day in Hong Kong. There was a typhoon warning, but we decided to go ahead and let the kids run around at Disneyland before we hop on the night train back to JiuJiang.

At the gate, the Disney employees warned us that it was suppose to rain so many of the rides would be closed. We took our chances.

We started the day off with Winnie the Pooh.

Just as we were walking by, a cast member said the weather had cleared and they were going to open the outdoor rides.

We got in line for Dumbo. We normally don’t ride Dumbo because it’s so crowded, but today the line was short.

Sianna’s first time to ride Dumbo.

2011-06-23@11-28-51
She wasn’t afraid.

2011-06-23@11-29-28
She rather enjoyed it.

I learned that some of the rides in the park allow for parents to manage 2 kids. Good to know.

Then, we waited in line for Cinderella’s Carousel. I love Sianna’s hand and Selah’s foot.

The kids wait to ride Cinderella’s Carousel.

Oh my, that was some carousel ride.

We stopped by Pixie Hollow, but Tinkerbell was out and about.

Schäfer really wanted to climb the leaves.

Lately, Sianna’s been putting her hands on her hips and walking around. She looks like she’s ready to cheer about something! GO team SKx5!

Schäfer had a race with Buzz Lightyear and won!

Schäfer met up with some friends who were also visiting HK.

Selah found my teeth during It’s A Small World.

We took a break and watched the Golden Mickey’s. The kids loved playing with the streamers after everyone had left the theater.

Selah and PJ reunited.

2011-06-23@14-21-13
While the big kids rode Buzz Lightyear, guess who stopped by to greet Selah and PJ?

2011-06-23@14-21-16
Selah thought this big, plastic man was…

2011-06-23@14-21-20
interesting.

“Mommy! Mommy! You won’t believe who I just met!”

Next the kids splashed around the UFO zone. Our friends brought swimsuits for their kids which elevated the experience. (Mental note: next time pack swimsuits!)

It wasn’t loud at all (in fact, there’s no music involved), but Sianna was so nervous when playing with this water that she kept covering her ears.

2011-06-23@14-47-36
Schäfer got his splash ON.

2011-06-23@16-03-43
It’s good to play with friends.

4 kids in a teacup.

4 kids in a teacup + Hubs. He was taking it for the team until a cast member told him that only 3 kids per adult were allowed in a teacup.

We left the park early and started the journey to Shenzhen. We were doing fine with time, but I was so nervous we were going to miss our train that I moved quickly through customs. Hubs said he had never seen me move so fast! Schäfer was amazing! Even after playing hard at Disney, he ran with us all the way to the train station without complaint.
