Sianna 2, Schäfer 4 & Selah 10 months
Our day began with Selah trying to chew on everything in sight. Apparently, she has 2 more teeth that just broke through and are coming in at the same time. This brings her up to 8 teeth!
Sianna woke up with a fever, terrible cough and a terrible mood.

 On this 15th day of the 9th lunar month when the moon is supposed to be at its brightest and fullest we celebrated the Mid-Autumn festival in a simple way.
After all, we had just hosted 2 mooncake baking parties and given mooncakes to our neighbors just after the earthquake.

 In mid-August I realized that the Chinese Mid-Autumn festival was fast approaching. For years, I had wanted to make our own mooncakes, which, besides going out to view the full moon, was a main feature of the festival.
Many expats that I know really don’t love mooncakes. They are the Chinese equivalent of American fruitcakes…dry, tasteless

Happy 36th Birthday Hubs & Happy 235th Birthday America!
Hubs: How awesome is that! I count every year a blessing. According to the average life expectancy in China, I’m halfway to death already! (Of course, I’ll die from pollution exposure far before then.)
Schäfer is 4.5 years old.
Sianna is two years and one month old.

Happy Father’s Day!
Schäfer 4.6, Sianna 2.1, Selah 6 months
Since Sandra was away at a Women’s Retreat on Father’s Day, we decided to celebrate a little later this year. Of course, every Dad loves to start Father’s Day with a great breakfast…in this case a batch of bacon & egg bagels, mangosteens and lychee!
