Wuhan Shopping & Eating

After the competition, we took a couple of days for some family fun. First, we did a little shopping at Wal-Mart (not the same as in America: think big bags of chicken-feet), Carrefour (French version of Wal-Mart) and Metro (semi-Sam’s Club/Costco).

The Chinese Language Competition…the rest of the story.

June 9 – On Saturday afternoon, 12 teams were split into two rooms. We competed well and made it into the finals. Note that the semi-finals included four parts: vocabulary reading (my part), paragraph reading (our Korean teammate), a prepared speech (Nepalese teammate) and a performance (two Nepalese, one Indian and myself).

Morning of the Competition

Our day started with a traditional Chinese breakfast. Here are tea eggs, spicy cabbage and 2 types of noodles.
