On June 8, we headed off to Wuhan. It was actually startling how much stuff we had to take for a long-weekend excursion. When Shorel and I went to Greece & Turkey last summer all we brought – for the both of us – was the little blue roller suitcase in the photo above.

Welcome to Yichang

Yichang is now welcoming everyone via their convenient taxi service.

No car seat necessary. In fact, I’ve never seen one here. Neither in a store nor in a personal vehicle.

The taxi was filled with the smell of Cape Jasmine.

Children’s Day June 1

 We were very excited to celebrate Children’s Day on June 1st. Our friends invited us out for fish hot pot.

The day before Children’s Day all these classmates from the kindergarten went to town to play. The bus was rather rowdy!  There’s no school on Children’s Day!

 The 350 Indian and Nepalese students studying medicine have their own cafeteria to help them focus on their studies and not get too homesick. It’s complete with a chef from India. The food is as authentic as it gets.
