• Saw a man walking his parrot this morning. We don't walk our parrots in Idaho.
  • At the 40th annual ukulele festival. Just had a uke lesson. Very cool.
  • I've seen a bicycle with a surf board rack, a fire engine pulling a yacht & a bronzed old man with muscles like a dinosaur. We're in Hawaii!
  • Hong Kong airport. Free wifi. Chai. Lounge chairs. Kids craft area (gate24). Kids potties. English books. Love it! Gotta board the plane now
  • Hong Kong! There's just something about the fresh air and convenient transportation (Octopus card!) that makes my travel weary body smile.

Down, but not out.

05.14.10

On Tuesday (05.11), I pulled a muscle in my back.

Thus, I’ve basically been lying in bed ever since.

Wednesday was pretty much insane. I cried from the pain. Hubs had to help me out of bed and to the bathroom. Am I 94 or 34? Not sure. I figured Hubs and I would have “those years”

Two Traumatic Teeth

05.11.10

Sianna is generally pretty happy. (Well, now that we know those things which can set her off.)

One of the things that Sianna does not like is any kind of rough handling or pain.

Enter teething.

This was the scene at our house the entire second week in May. Sianna had two bottom teeth cutting through. Nothing offered

Auto Draft

05.07 – 05.08.10

When Schäfer comes home from school at 11:30am, the first thing he wants to do is have a snack and then play.

He arrives at school at 8:30am. During the Parent’s Day, I learned that their mid-morning snack is only soy milk. So, for our little guy who has eaten every two hours since

Ying Cai Kindergarten Parent's Day

05.07.10

When the teacher told me Friday was Parent’s Day, I wasn’t too concerned. We’ve been pretty happy with Ying Cai Kindergarten. There have been some issues, but no preschool is perfect. So, I attended Parent’s Day in my usual relaxed mode – Sianna in tow.

The first thing I noticed was that Schäfer’s class has grown

Early May Fun

05.02 – 05.05.10

Once the weather started to warm, we decided to ride our bikes over to a monument that is near our home. Yes, it looks like the Washington Monument, but this statue is in honor of the 1999 Yangtze River Flood Victims.

At the monument, there are four unique “houses”. Hubs would like to turn
