Me At Yahoo Dot Com

I started a “me at yahoo dot com” address when I graduated from college. I still check the account occasionally to see if an old friend wrote on a whim. This, alone, dates me. Now, we can just find each other on Facebook.

It seems that Yahoo! has been doing some spring cleaning thus my account has been deleted. All my folders and worthy-of-storage e-mails from old friends are gone. Sadness indeed. I was greeted with the following message:

Why is my account inactive?
Yahoo! Mail deactivated your mail account because:

  1. You have not logged into your mail account during the past four months; or
  2. You have requested that Yahoo! Mail deactivate your account.

What does this mean?

  1. All email messages, folders, attachments and preferences have been deleted and cannot be recovered.
  2. All messages sent to “me at yahoo dot com” are being returned to the sender.
  3. You can still use your Yahoo! ID to access other registered services on Yahoo!.

Yahoo! ???You had too much spam anyway. And now…back to Facebook.
