  
Our final day in QingDao involved hosting a banquet for 7 friends who had been a tremendous help to us during our stay here. We all enjoyed a wonderful buffet at ToDai’s. Schäfer loves zongzi. This morning Hubs and Schäfer set off for the Municipal Hospital to pick up the birth certificate… well, at least to pick up the paper which allows us to go to a government office downtown to get a birth certificate. Today was a challenge for me. Hubs had to finish giving final exams via phone so we agreed that he needed to go to his office from 8am – 12 and then again from 2-6pm. This morning Hubs began giving final exams to his students via telephone. For a couple of hours, he barricaded himself inside the office. Just after giving birth, I told Hubs that I wanted to fly home on the 26th. Surely, Christmas Day would be enough recovery time. Since we were still waiting on a birth certificate, we stayed in Qingdao a few days longer than expected.
