10.13
We are appreciating these last few blooms before the cold weather sets in.

Schäfer worked hard on his butterfly painting.

Sianna’s art contained more water than actual paint, but she had fun.

I loved Schäfer’s butterfly, but he insisted on cutting it up and mounting it on popsicle sticks. He loves anything that can fly.

The little girls are excellent at getting all the blocks out.

Around Mid-October we made a day trip to Nanchang. There were no 8am tickets, so Hubs bought the 7am tickets.

2011-10-16@12-48-32
The weather was perfect for playing outside.

2011-10-16@12-50-11
Schäfer loves his Nanchang friends.

2011-10-16@12-51-53
There are no swings in JiuJiang so this swing was a real treat.

Selah enjoyed playing at the bottom of the slides. After such an eventful morning, she easily went down for a nap.

We were so excited to meet sweet baby A. Can you believe all that hair?!?

Schäfer keeps asking us to tape “ladders” and “hoses” on his trains. Apparently, the Island of Sodor is rampant with fire.

2011-10-18@16-09-19
We’ve spent many a late afternoon having a “snack picnic” outside due to the construction in the apartment above us. Hubs came to an agreement with the workers that they would take a break each day from 12 – 2pm so that our kids cou take a nap.

We told them that they could start at 7am if they wanted, but our kids really have to get a nap in the middle of the day. (This was after they went several days without naps and turned into unidentifiable children.) Unfortunately, there are still many afternoons when they drill away.

When Schäfer sees a patch of grass, he immediately stops and rolls around.

2011-10-18@16-15-20
He also loves to help with lawn maintenance.

2011-10-18@16-27-10
An entrepreneur has set up a bounce house near the exercise equipment. For 10 rmb ($1.25), any kid can bounce away for as long as they want.

I’ve let Schäfer play here a couple of times. It’s a great way to get some energy out.

2011-10-18@16-27-57
He moves non-stop until it’s dark. Then, he begs to play just a little longer.

10.20
He’s all boy.

One of our big remedies for DRAMA is a “cold compress”. Anytime Sianna has a problem, I ask her to lay down with her blanket and bunny while I make a nice cold compress. She loves the attention. I love her regaining self control.

In addition to the bounce house, the entrepreneur has set up this trampoline. For 5rmb (90 cents), you get about  5 minutes of flight. On Sunday evening, Hubs decided to give each of the kids a treat.

2011-10-23@16-37-04
Hubs offered some aeronautical assistance.

2011-10-23@16-41-25
Schäfer had a great time and didn’t want it to end.

2011-10-23@16-52-11
For Sianna’s treat, she rode on a little bunny see-saw ride that was outside of a small store. She didn’t want this to end.

2011-10-23@17-21-58
For Selah’s treat, Hubs spun her on the exercise equipment.
I love Sundays.
