In August, we put life in China on pause and came back to the states for a few months.

Right now, we’re in Southern California where Hubs is working on a university campus.

Landing in SoCal has been wonderfully strange. We’re not from here. We have no family nearby. Thankfully, we do have some precious friends in the area.

For the first time in my life, I’m experiencing fall amidst palm trees. I keep looking up expecting the leaves to change at some point.

Hubs job provides a fully furnished house for us. It’s an odd thing to live in China, but visit America for 6 months without spoons, bunk beds, or even a refrigerator.

I’ve very thankful for the backyard we have. The kids play outside at least 3 times a day. The yard is not large, but compared to our 28th floor apartment in China – a little grass goes a long way.

The pool is not too shabby either.

Hey, are you at CU? I’m curious to know how your experience is. That school is only about an hour from my parents, so it’s a place we’d consider doing something like you are doing.
